When students are absent or do not complete work they are encouraged to attend office hours for extra help. Office hours are 30 minute "periods" immediately following the school day where students can go to their classes and get help, make up work, or ask questions about assignments. They occur on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for all science teachers. I keep a record of all students that come to office hours, how long they stay, and what they are working on. This is a valuable resource; it is essentially 1.5 hours of free tutoring/work time per week.
Students are allowed 1 day for each excused absence to make up the missed work. Students are not allowed extra credit at Mission Hill.
