What's New In Mr. Rudolph's Garden?

Fall marks the last honey harvest. Time for the bees to hunker down through winter!

Final hive checks to make sure bees have reserves for the winter. I also got the chance to get my neighbor (pictured) in the hive for the first time!

Take any excess honey off the hive to avoid crowding.

If you're lucky, you might even spot a healthy queen preparing to lay winter bees.

It's bare-root fruit tree season!
This year at Rudolph's Rancho we have planted a Blenheim Apricot, Black Beauty Mulberry, Pakistan Mulberry, Sundowner Apple, Weeping Santa Rosa Plum, Cherry Rhubarb, and a Honey Babe Genetic Dwarf Peach.

All told, we have over 50 fruit trees (and shrubs). Come ask me about them!

Be nice to bees...
